Trump Announces $1,776 ‘Warrior Dividend’ Bonus For U.S. Military Personnel

U.S. President Donald Trump announced Wednesday that all military service members will receive a Christmas bonus of $1,776. The “Warrior Dividend” checks, which are already on their way, will be given out to more than 1.4 million individuals serving in the military to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States.

During his latest address to the nation, Trump implied that the military Christmas bonus is being funded from tariff revenues, with the amount chosen to honor the founding of the nation in 1776.

Trump Administration Starts 250th Independence Day Celebration With $1,776 Christmas Bonus For The Military

We made a lot more money than everybody thought because of tariffs, and the bill helped us along,

Trump said, referring to the GOP’s Big Beautiful Bill – a massive tax cut and spending legislation passed earlier this year. He added that nobody deserves the dividend more than the country’s military, before congratulating them.

The President said that the dividend checks are “already on the way” and that the idea came together just before he was set to make his primetime address. According to the White House, the military Christmas bonus would be sent to active-duty service members who fall in the pay grades of 0-6 and below, reserve component service members in the pay grades of 0-6 and below, and those on active duty orders of 31 days or more as of November 30, 2025.

He also touted the enlistment record in the military under his leadership, comparing the numbers to his predecessor Joe Biden’s term, when the military reportedly saw some of its worst annual recruitment figures in history. The address from the White House on Wednesday was a tour de force of the 45th and 47th President’s accomplishments since returning to the Oval Office in January 2025.

11 months ago, I inherited a mess, and I’m fixing it,” Trump said. “When I took office, inflation was the worst in 48 years, and some would say in the history of our country, which causes prices to be higher than ever before, making life unaffordable for millions and millions of Americans.

Trump also highlighted the decline in maritime drug trafficking, his efforts to tackle “wokeness” in schools, and the revitalization of the military. He noted that drugs entering the U.S. by the ocean and sea is down 94%, while handing over the control of schools back to the states from the “grip of sinister woke radicals,” and rebuilding the military to make it the most powerful anywhere in the world.

Trump Promises To Make The Most Aggressive Housing Reform In Early 2026 To Address The Affordability Crisis

He addressed the issue of affordability in the speech, insisting that his use of tariffs is helping handle it. The President attributed much of his administration’s success to tariffs, which he said have been used by other countries against the U.S. for many decades, “but not anymore.”

Companies know that if they build in America, there are no tariffs, and that’s why they’re coming home to the USA in record numbers.

He vowed to reform the American housing industry, as the cost of living has become one of the top issues among voters as the country heads into next year’s mid-term election. Trump argued that a major factor driving up housing costs was the “colossal” border invasion that was allowed by the Biden administration, claiming that millions of migrants received taxpayer-funded housing while Americans saw their rent and housing costs skyrocket. The President said over 60% of growth in the rental market was driven by foreign migrants. An estimated 25 million immigrants entered the country illegally between 2021 and 2024.

Trump added.

Illegal aliens stole American jobs and flooded emergency rooms, getting free health care and education paid for by you, the American taxpayer. They also increase the cost of law enforcement by numbers so high that they are not even to be mentioned. For the first time in 50 years, we are now seeing reverse migration,

Trump has previously floated the idea of sending Americans a $2,000 tariff rebate check, in an effort to address voters’ concerns about the economy. Initially, it was to be funded by money saved from audits conducted by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), and later via tariff revenue.

However, U.S. lawmakers have balked at the plan, arguing that the money should be used to lower the national debt, which crossed $38 trillion in October, increasing by $1 trillion in the span of just 71 days between August and October 2025.
