Trump’s National Address Highlights Global Wins, Criticizes Biden Era, Skips Venezuela Showdown

Trump’s Nationwide Address Touts Global Wins, Slams Biden Era, Skips Venezuela Showdown

The much-awaited nationwide address of US President Donald Trump happened on Wednesday night. During his address, Trump spoke about the sweeping achievements that his administration has made across various sectors, such as foreign policy, economic revival, border control, and domestic governance, during the first year of his second term as president. As expected, Trump did not forget to attack the policies of his predecessor, Joe Biden.

In his 19-minute speech, Trump focused on attacking his predecessors rather than talking about the legislative reforms he planned to make in the coming years. He said that during Biden’s rule, illegal immigrants flocked into the country; however, the trend has subsided after Trump’s rule began.

Trump Claims America Was ‘Dead’ Before, Says His Policies Restored Global Power

The major part of Trump’s speech was focused on the merits of his government in handling issues of international importance, reshaping America’s stand in the global political landscape. According to Trump, the notable achievements of his government included nullifying the nuclear threat, putting an end to the war in Gaza, and restoring the strength of America as a global power. He claimed that all his achievements proved America’s decisive leadership in the face of global issues. He meant to say that America was dead under the previous administration, but now it has regained its influence over global issues.

Trump Highlights Jobs, Inflation Drop, and Border Enforcement, Avoids Venezuela Showdown

Trump claimed that his policies have given a new life to domestic manufacturing and trade, with more investors returning to American soil. Trump claimed that inflation has ceased, wages are rising, and prices are declining after 11 months in office. He touted 100% of net job creation going to American-born citizens, reversing prior trends where jobs went to foreign migrants, and predicted an unprecedented economic boom in 2026.

Trump said that his administration has taken a strict stance on cross-border drug trafficking, which has significantly reduced. He criticized the previous Biden administration for its loose hold on immigration issues. He described inheriting the “worst border in the world” from Biden, now transformed into the most secure through decisive action without new legislation. Trump noted that there were zero undocumented entries for seven months, a 94% drop in drug inflows, mass deportations of criminals, and reverse migration freeing housing and jobs for Americans.

Despite recent escalations, such as Trump’s naval blockade announcement and demands for the return of U.S. oil rights and land, the address skipped the Venezuela showdown entirely. However, earlier on Tuesday, Trump had designated Maduro’s government a foreign terrorist organization for alleged drug trafficking, human trafficking, and theft of U.S. assets. He linked this to a broader naval blockade announced earlier, surrounding Venezuela with what he called the largest armada in South American history to pressure the regime.

Key Policy Changes Announced by Trump

Trump detailed a “warrior dividend” of $1,776 checks for over 1.4 million military service members, funded by tariff revenues, with payments already in progress. He promised aggressive housing reforms in 2026, lower interest rates via a new Federal Reserve chair, and reductions in grocery, drug, energy, and health insurance costs by targeting big pharma and insurers.

He reinforced enforcement of border security through mass deportations, wall construction, and designating cartels like Tren de Aragua as terrorist organizations under the Alien Enemies Act. Trump also highlighted an energy emergency declaration to boost production, end climate restrictions, and withdraw from the Paris Accord.
