The Powerball lottery game is one of the biggest lotteries in the world, with drawings held three times a week and prizes that can reach into the billions. The current jackpot stands at approximately $1.7 billion, with the next drawing scheduled for Christmas Eve after no winner emerged in Monday’s draw. With the latest price, the Powerball jackpot has soared to one of the biggest in the game’s history.
There was no Powerball jackpot winner on Monday night’s drawing, and the prize has rolled over to the next drawing since no ticket won the jackpot. According to the latest details, the current jackpot is estimated to be around $1.7 billion, making it the fourth-largest Powerball prize ever and the fifth-largest U.S. lottery jackpot overall. Monday’s winning numbers were 3, 18, 36, 41, and 54, with the Powerball 7 and a Power Play multiplier of 2x.
The staggering $1.7 billion jackpot swelled after the 46th consecutive drawing ended without a grand prize winner. The recent data confirms that there has not been a big winner after 46 straight drawings since September 6, 2025. Powerball jackpots grow whenever there is no jackpot winner, because the prize money accumulates from ticket sales.
This marks just the second time Powerball has recorded back-to-back jackpots above the $1 billion threshold. Back in 2023 in California, a $1.08 billion jackpot was claimed on July 19, followed by a record-breaking $1.765 billion prize on October 11.
The next draw is scheduled for Christmas Eve, Wednesday, and the prize will be the 5th-largest in U.S. lottery history. The odds of winning the Powerball Jackpot are about 1 in 292.2 million, because people need to match 5 numbers from 1-69 plus 1 red Powerball from 1-26. Smaller wins in the Powerball are much easier: 1 in 38 for $4 (just the Powerball), 1 in 92 for $4 (1 white + Powerball), up to 1 in 579 for $7 (3 whites).
The jackpot (currently estimated $1.7 billion) winner can choose a 29-year annuity payout. The rewards will be paid as annual installments that grow 5% each year. Otherwise, winners can opt for a one-time lump-sum cash option worth about $735.3 million before taxes. The tickets are available at supermarkets, convenience stores, and other retailers across the United States. Powerball drawings are broadcast live every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.
Florida Lottery Emphasizes Education Gains From Powerball Ticket Sales
Powerball tickets are $2 each, and more than half of the money stays in the jurisdiction of purchase. The funds raised through this program are generally used to support local programs and services. Florida Lottery Acting Secretary Reginald D. Dixon stated that the continued enthusiasm from Floridians showed just how thrilling these moments could be. He added that every Powerball ticket purchased in Florida not only offered a chance at life-changing winnings but also directly supported students, classrooms, and educational opportunities across the state. He noted that while Powerball was a multistate game played nationwide, they were always hoping the winning ticket would be sold right there in Florida, because a win for Florida would be an even bigger win for education.
The Florida Lottery’s official press release stated that since its inception, the Florida Lottery had contributed more than $49 billion to education, including significant funding for the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program, which supported both college and technical training opportunities. It added that more than one million students had received the opportunity to pursue higher education, thanks in part to Florida Lottery contributions.
